NEC 406.12 requires a listed TR receptacle in dwelling units, guest rooms, education and child-care facilities, dormitories, care occupancies and similar spaces — and a non-TR device with add-on plastic caps is not an equivalent to a listed TR receptacle.
Is WR enough on its own for an exterior wall?
No. The weather-resistant construction covers the device; the cover and the box are the other half of the assembly and they are separate line items. Order the cover with the same PO and check that the enclosure matches the plate and the device depth.
Can the 15A model be used instead of this 20A face?
