The paperwork that clears receiving and the AHJ

Every shipment carries the certification and entry documents. What most submittals ask for beyond that is a certificate that names the model rather than the product line.

With every shipment

Six documents, one file

The entry file and the receiving file are built from the same set, so the cartons and the paperwork agree.

UL certificate

The certification naming the manufacturer and the covered products for the order you receive, not a brochure page.

Certification

UL test report

The test record behind the listing, for the standard the model holds.

Test record

Product submittal sheet

The document a spec reviewer files: ratings, standard, model designation and manufacturer.

Submittal

Commercial invoice & packing list

The entry and receiving pair, line by line against the cartons that arrive.

Entry file

Certificate of origin

Country of origin for the entry file, aligned with the marking printed on the cartons.

Origin

Private-label documentation

For branded orders: face markings, packaging design and UPC barcode assignments, written down for customs and retail compliance.

Private label
Listing coverage

Standard by product family

Each family sits under its own record. A number that checks out for one family says nothing certain about a product in another, so verification is done family by family.

Product familyStandardWhat it covers
GFCI receptaclesUL 943Ground-fault circuit interrupters, including the self-test models on the line.
ReceptaclesUL 498Attachment plugs and receptacles, including tamper-resistant and weather-resistant constructions.
Wall switchesUL 20General-use snap switches.
Wall platesUL 514DCover plates, where applicable.

The file number for each family is provided with the quote and confirmed on UL Product iQ before the first order. We do not print a file number on this page: it is a record to be checked, not a badge to be quoted.

Verification

How we invite you to check us

Four checks that take a buyer less time than reading a supplier brochure.

  • Search the file number in UL Product iQ and match four things against it: company name, product category, your model in scope, and the marking on the sample.
  • Where a project specifies that the listed company must match the spec sheet, our brand can be registered as a multiple listee on the manufacturer's file through UL's Multiple Listing Service. The application and its timeline belong to UL.
  • Pre-shipment inspection, in-process QC audit and social compliance audit can be scheduled, and SGS, BV and Intertek have all been hosted on site.
  • Every shipment includes the certificate, the test report, the commercial invoice, the packing list, the certificate of origin and the submittal sheets.
Behind the paperwork

Where the documents come from

The records are generated by the process, not assembled for a buyer visit.

  • In-house chain: injection molding, PCB assembly, device assembly, UL-required electrical testing, final inspection and packaging.
  • In-line electrical functional testing on GFCI units, and AQL sampling on receptacles and wall plates.
  • ISO 9001 quality management across the plant.
  • Factory audits and customer visits are welcome by appointment, and audit responses go back through the sales team.
Documented per model

The four families the paperwork covers

One model per family. Submittal sheets, ratings and the listing reference follow the model, not the catalog.

Before you ask

What we quote rather than publish

Two things we hand over per order, and what comes with the order on the compliance side.

  • The document set ships with the order: certificate, test report, invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and submittal sheets.
  • Where a project needs the listed company to match the spec sheet, multiple listing is raised at quotation stage — the fee and timeline are UL's.
  • Inspection and audit windows are booked through the sales team so they fall inside production rather than after loading.
Documents FAQ

What a submittal review asks for

What documents arrive with a shipment?

UL certificate, UL test report, commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and product submittal sheets. Private-label orders add documentation covering face markings, packaging design and UPC barcode assignments.

How do I verify the listing myself?

Open UL Product iQ and search the file number we provide with the quote. Match the company name, the product category, your model in scope and the marking on the sample. If any of the four does not line up, stop and ask before approving.

Does the certificate name our model, or the product line?

Ask for the model level. A product-line statement is easier to issue but rarely what a submittal review wants — the certificate that names the model is the one to file, and it is on our open list per model.

Can our company name appear in UL's directory?

Through Multiple Listing Service on the manufacturer's file: we supply the file documentation and the model designations, you apply to UL, and we authorise it. The fee and timeline belong to UL, and it is measured in weeks.

Do you provide RoHS / REACH declarations, or a labour and supply-chain statement?

They are not standard documents today, which is why we do not promise them on this page. Tell us which declaration your buyer requires and we confirm whether it can be issued for the model before you commit.

Request a quote

Send the list, get the package back

Model list, quantities and project type is all we need to start. The quotation comes back in one business day with the specification sheet for each line item, the listing reference it holds and the packing detail for the DC — one document, not four.
