What a trade account gets you today

Order status, re-issued documents and account pricing are handled by your sales engineer rather than a self-service login, because the portal we would want to build should not be half-built. Here is what is available now, and what is planned.

What you can already get by asking

Until the portal exists, these all come through a sales engineer within one business day.

  • Order status and shipping documents for open orders
  • Re-issued specification sheets, test reports and certificates for a model you already bought
  • Account pricing for a repeat order, quoted against the previous order line by line
  • Packaging and barcode files previously issued under your brand
  • Sample requests against a model you have used before, without re-confirming the specification

What a portal would need to do to be worth having

A login that only shows a price list is worse than an email. These are the four functions we would build before opening one.

The portal is planned rather than cancelled, and it will not be published as an empty shell with a login screen — that is exactly the pattern buyers have learned to distrust.

When it opens, access will be issued to approved trade accounts, and your sales engineer will set it up with you rather than asking you to register.

  • Order status and shipping documents per order
  • Re-download of every specification sheet, test report and certificate on your own model list
  • Account pricing and repeat-order templates
  • Your packaging and barcode files, stored against your account

Why there is no login here

Account service is personal today; this page explains what that means.

  • Trade accounts are managed personally — which for the order volumes we handle today is faster than a portal would be.

Send the list, get the package back

Model list, quantities and project type is all we need to start. The quotation comes back in one business day with the specification sheet for each line item, the listing reference it holds and the packing detail for the DC — one document, not four.
