What this line covers

The plate is the last line on the order and the first one to go wrong

A wall plate is not a universal cover. Each of the four models here fits one family of device: T9601 takes a traditional toggle switch, T9602 takes a duplex receptacle with a centre screw, T9603 is the large rectangular opening used by GFCI receptacles, USB outlets, decorator receptacles and rocker switches, and T9607 is blank for an abandoned or reserved box.

All four are 1-gang, thermoplastic with a smooth face, screw-mounted, and published in standard, mid-size and jumbo sizes. That size range matters more than it looks: a mid-size or jumbo plate is what covers the drywall damage around an existing opening during a unit turn, and it is usually the reason a plate is being replaced at all.

We do not claim a listing we do not hold. Our plate line is not published as UL 514D listed. If your submittal needs that listing for the plates, tell us before we quote — we will confirm what we can provide rather than issue a certificate number the line does not carry.

Selection guide

Match the opening to the device, then pick the size

Three of the four models exist because a device has an opening only one of them fits. Read the device list first, then the room, then the size.

What the device isWhat to put on the POWhy buyers get this wrong
A traditional toggle switch (TM-1, TM-2, TM-3)T9601 — standard toggle openingRocker and decorator devices will not fit this opening, and a toggle will not fit theirs.
A duplex receptacle (TDT15, TDTW15, TMDR20)T9602 — duplex opening with centre screwThe centre-screw mounting is what distinguishes this from a decorator plate. They are not interchangeable.
A GFCI, USB outlet or decorator deviceT9603 — large rectangular decorator openingBuyers assume the decorator plate is only for switches and order a duplex plate for a GFCI.
An abandoned, reserved or future-use boxT9607 — blank, no openingA blank is a safety closure, not a decorative cover. It is specified when a box must stay accessible.
A unit turn with patched drywallThe same opening type in mid-size or jumboStandard size is ordered by default and then does not cover the repair. Size is the second decision, not the first.
Three things to confirm before the plate order
  • The plate is device-specific. Toggle, duplex and decorator openings are not interchangeable — the published data for each model lists what it is compatible with and what it is not. Check the device list against the plate list, not against the room name.
  • The size is usually the reason for the order. Standard, mid-size and jumbo all ship in every finish; the size is what covers an existing opening during a turn. Confirm which size the site actually needs before it becomes a second delivery.
  • The material grade is still open in our source data. Whether the thermoplastic is an unbreakable polycarbonate grade is flagged for confirmation. If your specification names a material grade, ask us before the order rather than after the submittal.
Material & documents

What we can state, and what we will confirm

The plate line is the one place on this site where we deliberately understate rather than overstate. There is no listing claim on these four models, and the material grade is still flagged for confirmation in our source data — so a submittal that names UL 514D or an unbreakable grade goes to a human before it goes to a certificate.

  • Opening-type cross-reference — which plate fits which device family, published per model so the device order and the plate order can be checked against each other.
  • Size and dimension data for standard, mid-size and jumbo, so the specification and the site agree on what the opening needs.
  • Material statement — thermoplastic with a smooth face, with the polycarbonate question flagged as open rather than answered.
  • Mounting detail — screw-on mounting, with screw size and inclusion confirmed per order.
  • Packing and carton marking detail — plate orders are high count; case pack and barcode layout are issued with the quotation.

No listing is claimed for this line. If your submittal requires a specific plate standard, say so before we quote and we will confirm what the model actually holds.

For device + plate orders

Send the device schedule and the room types. We will return the plate list by opening type and size, matched to the devices on the same order, with the count and the carton detail — one line per room type.

Procurement questions we get asked most

Which plate fits a GFCI or a USB outlet?

The decorator model, T9603. Its opening is the large rectangle used by GFCI receptacles, USB outlets, decorator receptacles and rocker switches. The duplex plate has two separate openings and will not fit those devices.

Is the plate UL listed?

We do not claim a listing for this line. If your submittal names a plate standard such as UL 514D, tell us before we quote and we will confirm what the model holds rather than issue a number the line does not carry.

What are the size options, and why does size matter?

Every model is published in standard, mid-size and jumbo. Size matters when a plate is replacing one on an existing opening — the larger sizes cover the drywall and the paint line around the old plate, which is usually the real reason a unit turn needs plates at all.

Does the plate come with screws?

Mounting is screw-on; screw size and whether screws are included per model are confirmed at quote stage, so ask on the PO rather than assuming.

Can the four plates be mixed in one carton?

They are separate line items with separate openings, so they are packed and labelled per SKU. A mixed plate order can share the pallet and the carton marking of the device order it ships with, which is normally what the DC wants.

What is the lead time from PO to loading?

Production runs 25–35 days depending on the mix and the colour confirmation, and samples are around five working days. Colour confirmation and packaging artwork approval are the two variables that move the date.

Send the list, get the package back

Model list, quantities and project type is all we need to start. The quotation comes back in one business day with the specification sheet for each line item, the listing reference it holds and the packing detail for the DC — one document, not four.
