Between two 3-way switches. It has four traveller terminals and no common, so it cannot be used on its own or as a replacement for a single pole device — each additional location beyond the second needs one 4-way in the middle of the run.
Which wall plate does this rocker face need?
A decorator-style rectangular opening — T9603 1-Gang Decorator Receptacle Wallplate. It is not the same plate as a toggle switch, and on this line the plate is a separate line item rather than something included with the device.
Is the wall plate included with the switch?
No. Every model in this switch line is published without a plate, so the plate is ordered separately: decorator opening for the rocker faces, standard toggle opening for the toggle faces, and the matching gang configuration for the combination switches.
