Check that the installed device is a traditional mechanical toggle switch with a center lever opening.
Use Standard for clean openings, Mid-Size for minor wall marks, or Jumbo when old plate outlines need wider coverage.
Confirm the plate finish matches the switch color and other wallplates in the room or project area.
Place the wallplate over the switch so the toggle lever moves freely through the center opening.
Tighten the mounting screws until the plate sits flat. Do not over-tighten, especially on uneven wall surfaces.
